There are several bands here at Spalding High. The most visible is "The Blue and Silver Brigade," our marching band. The band has marched all over the Southeast from Dollywood to Disney World, here in Spalding County, such as Christmas Parade, Homecoming Parade and all Spalding High football games including our playoff appearance in the Georgia Dome.
There are several other bands representing Spalding High. Among them are our Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Brass Attack, and New Steel among other small ensembles. All open to the musicians here at Spalding High School
The bands also play at local middle and elementary schools.
Starting in 2009, Mr. Lukat teaches AP music Theory at Spalding High, the only AP Music course in Spalding County.
In the Spring of 2010, the band traveled to Chicago to perform in the Heritage Festival. They received first place in their class!
